Man arrested by DC police for multiple armed offenses

Mocobizscene- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrest of a man involved in several armed offenses that took place in January.

On January 10th, at approximately 5 a.m., the victims found themselves in the 4100 block of Hunt Place, NE when they were approached by the suspects. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, demanding the victims’ keys and instructing them to exit the vehicle. Complying with the demands, the victims stepped out of the car, allowing the suspects to flee the scene with their vehicle. The police have since recovered the stolen car.

On January 20th, around 1:22 p.m., an individual was shot in the 3400 block of 13th St., SE. Following the incident, the suspect quickly escaped in a vehicle, while the victim, fortunately, sought medical assistance for their non-life-threatening injuries.

On February 10th, more than a month after the initial incident, law enforcement apprehended Deangelo Wooten, a 26-year-old individual without a permanent residence. Authorities charged him with multiple offenses, including armed robbery with a firearm, theft of a stolen vehicle, armed carjacking with a firearm, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities are continuing their search for the remaining suspects linked to these incidents.
