mocobizscene – A woman has pleaded guilty on Thursday in a disturbing child abuse case that occurred in Las Vegas. The incident took place last June, when authorities discovered children locked in a cage.

Amanda Stamper, aged 33, admitted her guilt in three felony charges of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment during her court appearance on Thursday.

Stamper was indicted by a grand jury in Clark County on seven counts of felony child abuse and neglect. The charges stemmed from her failure to intervene promptly while her husband, Travis Doss, abused his biological children.

Doss has been indicted by the grand jury on 38 counts of child abuse, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of sex trafficking, and one count of living off the earnings of a prostitute. These charges are all felonies.

According to the Clark County District Attorney’s office, there have been allegations dating back to 2019. It was during this time that the children were discovered after Stamper made a 911 call from a Walgreens located across the street from the extended stay residence near Valley View and Flamingo.

During an interview from jail with the 8 News Now Investigators, Stamper revealed, “I made attempts to intervene whenever he engaged in any wrongdoing, but he would simply retaliate and attack.”

During an interview with the police, Doss confessed to committing child abuse, as stated in an arrest report. However, when interviewed from jail by the 8 News Now Investigators, he subsequently refuted the accusations.

Stamper has entered into a guilty plea agreement, which stipulates that she will likely receive a sentence ranging from one to six years in the Nevada Department of Corrections for each of the three counts. However, the minimum term of imprisonment cannot exceed 40% of the maximum sentence. In addition to her prison time, Stamper may also be required to pay restitution to the victims.

According to Stamper, in an interview with the 8 News Now Investigators, she revealed that she and Doss have a two-year-old daughter together, while her other two children do not live with her. It is worth noting that she was pregnant at the time she agreed to the plea deal.

Stamper and Doss both have criminal records. At the time of their arrests, Doss had an active warrant out of South Carolina for aggravated assault, as stated by the North Myrtle Beach Police. Two days prior to the issuance of the warrant for Doss in January, Stamper was arrested by the police. This arrest was in relation to a warrant for violating federal probation linked to drug charges in Tennessee, as mentioned by the authorities.

During a court hearing, Doss attempted to conceal himself from 8 News Now’s camera by shaking his head.

Doss, known by his stage name “Trap Montana,” had been pursuing a career as a rapper. Interestingly, he also frequently shared videos of his children on social media, presenting an alternative image of his family life. However, the reality of what transpired inside their home turned out to be quite different.
