Landlord started fire due to non-payment of rent by tenants

According to New York authorities, a landlord allegedly set fire to a home while six children were inside, as the tenants failed to pay the rent. The New York Fire Department’s photo of Rafiqul Islam is displayed here.

Authorities have reported that a man was arrested in New York for setting fire to a property simply because the tenants were refusing to pay rent and vacate the premises.

At the time of the fire, there were six children and two adults present in the house, according to officials. According to the fire department, everyone was able to safely escape from the house.
