Mocobizscene- According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a third suspect has been arrested on Tuesday in connection with a June 2023 homicide that has already led to two other arrests.
A recent Facebook post by IMPD reveals that 19-year-old Brenden Dixson was apprehended on Tuesday in connection with the homicide. Court documents from earlier this month indicate that Dixson is facing one count of murder.
On June 18, 2023, tragedy struck when 15-year-old Jeremiah Lewis met an untimely demise in a shooting incident. His life was cut short in a heart-wrenching event that took place on Lohr Drive’s 2000 block. Reports indicate that Lewis was fatally shot while driving a car, leading to a devastating collision with a mailbox and a parked truck. The community mourns the loss of a young life, forever impacted by this senseless act of violence.
In the following weeks, the authorities made significant progress in the case. They apprehended two suspects involved in the shooting incident: 19-year-old Wardell Wright and a 14-year-old girl. According to court records, the young girl admitted to the police that she had arranged to buy marijuana from Lewis. Shockingly, she revealed that Wright, along with another individual, was responsible for Lewis’ murder.
According to officials, it is alleged that both Wright and Dixson were involved in the shooting and discharged their firearms. The documents state that Wright used an AR-style rifle while Dixson utilized a pistol.
According to the post, Dixson was apprehended without any trouble. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is anticipated to determine the final charges.
