Isaiah Buggs, ex-Chiefs player, given hard labor punishment for being convicted of animal cruelty

A former player of the Chiefs has been sentenced for animal cruelty charges, according to reports from Birmingham, Ala. (KCTV).

During the 2023 season, Isaiah Buggs was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. However, due to multiple legal issues in the offseason, he was released from the team in June.

After being found guilty of animal cruelty charges in Tuscaloosa, Alabama city court, he proceeded to appeal the conviction.

According to WBRC, the sentencing documents reveal that Buggs has been sentenced to 365 days of hard labor, out of which he will serve 60 days with credit. The remaining 300 days have been suspended for two years, subject to his behavior during this period.

According to an email sent by Buggs’ attorney, Greg Gambril, to WBRC on Wednesday, the legal situation surrounding Buggs is still ongoing and requires clarification as it is quite confusing.
