Investigation Underway Into Fatal Shooting Involving Officer In Pueblo

Mocobizscene-According to the police, a carjacking suspect was killed in Pueblo on Tuesday afternoon in an officer-involved shooting.

According to the Pueblo Police, a call about a carjacking was received at approximately 2:11 p.m. Upon arrival, officers quickly located the stolen vehicle and initiated a brief pursuit. The suspects, however, crashed the car into a fence and fled on foot from the scene.

One of the suspects was apprehended by the police, while the other suspect was armed. During the confrontation, shots were fired and the armed suspect was fatally shot. Thankfully, no officers sustained any injuries during the incident. This incident took place in the vicinity of the 100 block of Broadway Avenue.

The investigation is still in its early stages, with police stating that the officers involved will be placed on paid administrative leave.
