The Newark Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident in Newark’s South Ward. In the early hours of Saturday, a ShotSpotter activation on Shephard Avenue initially detected the incident.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found shell casings, but they did not find any immediate victims.
Later, a gunshot victim arrived at Beth Israel Medical Center, and it is believed that this incident is connected to the shooting on Shephard Avenue.
The victim’s condition is not life-threatening, and the Newark Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made thus far, and they are seeking any information that could aid in the case.
