Investigation underway following death of toddler in Newark, NJ home

Mocobizscene- A tragic incident is currently under investigation by the police in Newark. They are looking into the death of a two-year-old child at a residence in the heart of Essex County.

The investigation is being handled by detectives from the Major Crimes Task Force within the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, as stated by Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens.

The police in Newark responded to a residence on the 100 block of South Orange Avenue at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, according to Stephens.

They responded to a report of a “baby in distress.” As of Saturday afternoon, law enforcement officials had not made any arrests.
