Investigation Underway by Galveston Police Following Shooting on Jones Drive, with Victim in Stable Condition

Mocobizscene- Late Friday night, around 11:35 p.m., the Galveston Police Department received several reports of a shooting in the 7400 block of Jones Drive, as stated in a press release issued on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

The press release states that the police found the vehicle behind the Walgreens near 61st Street while it was on its way to The University of Texas Medical Branch emergency room. The vehicle was transporting both the shooting victim and the Good Samaritan.

The 19-year-old male victim was quickly taken to UTMB via Galveston EMS with a police escort. Currently, he is reported to be in fair condition. The Galveston Police Department wants to make it clear that they are actively investigating the case and no arrests or charges have been made at this time.
