Mocobizscene- Former city of Miami Commissioner Sabina Covo is currently being investigated for allegations of bribery, as stated in an executive order signed by Governor Ron DeSantis. The Miami Herald reported that Covo mentioned she hasn’t been informed or contacted by authorities regarding the investigation. She reportedly expressed her lack of knowledge about the specific allegations.
Covo mentioned that she is currently in touch with a lawyer and intends to seek guidance on the most suitable course of action to ensure her complete exoneration.
Covo expressed surprise in a statement to Local 10 News, stating that she had not been contacted by any agency or the Governor’s office regarding the investigation. She emphasized her commitment to leading with the highest ethics and integrity, and stated that any review of her tenure, including her campaigns, would confirm this. While she admitted to being unaware of the details of the investigation, Covo maintained that she conducted herself and her office with utmost good faith, ethics, and with the sole interests of the residents of the city of Miami and District 2, where she resides with her husband and three children.
