The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office recently released a statement indicating that on November 8, 2023, at around 1:50 a.m., they requested the assistance of the Illinois State Police Zone 4 to investigate a death that occurred in their custody.

According to the press release, the inmate who was injured received immediate medical attention and was taken to McDonough District Hospital. Unfortunately, he was later declared deceased.
