Identification made of Georgia man found deceased in Washington river 2 years ago

Pierre Pearson’s family had not been in contact with him since he relocated to the west coast in April 2021.

Later that year, the remains were sent to Othram, a private DNA lab in Texas, for further testing.

Othram managed to discover a potential family match for Pearson, which was a significant breakthrough. Taking immediate action, the sheriff’s office promptly reached out to Pearson’s stepmother and father and obtained their dental records.

Officials are currently in the process of identifying the remains of Pearson, and once the identification is confirmed, they will be returned to his family.

The sheriff’s office has concluded that there is no evidence suggesting that Pearson’s death was a result of a crime. As a result, the investigation will be closed.
