Mocobizscene-Two of the three teenagers who went on a rampage earlier this week were swiftly apprehended by officers from the agency. The third teenager was caught by Mount Ranier police officers in Maryland.
At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, an eventful night unfolded in the 1200 block of Hamlin Street NE. As a woman stepped out of her vehicle, three individuals surrounded her, demanding her keys. Fortunately, she managed to escape before they could make off with her car.
At around 9 p.m., another woman was in the process of loading her groceries into her vehicle on Georgia Avenue NW, in the 3800 block. Suddenly, she was confronted by a group of individuals who demanded her keys. Fearing for her safety, she handed over her keys, and the group quickly made their escape in her vehicle.
The department reported that they recovered the second victim’s vehicle on Monday night and successfully arrested two out of the three teens involved. The third teen was apprehended in Maryland at a later time.
Two teenagers, aged 17, hailing from Northeast DC, have been apprehended and are now facing charges of carjacking without the use of weapons. Meanwhile, the third individual involved in the incident is currently in custody under the Mount Ranier Police Department’s jurisdiction.
