Galveston County investigation: I-45 Gulf Freeway gunshot, crash injured driver

On I-45 in Galveston County, a driver was shot multiple times, according to officials, and subsequently collided. Wednesday evening at 11 p.m., Galveston police responded to a report of a gunshot somewhere near the Galveston Causeway.
A overturned vehicle was discovered near the Tiki Island northbound exit. Upon receiving multiple gunshot wounds, the driver was transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Due to the location of the collision being beyond Galveston, the investigation has been transferred to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, state troopers provided assistance. At this time, there is no description of a suspect.
