Hickman Student Accused Of Bringing Gun To School Faces Charges

On Monday, a student from Hickman High School faced charges for bringing a gun to the school premises, according to the police.

On Tuesday, Shaun Lamont Jackson, an 18-year-old resident of Columbia, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor marijuana possession. Jackson was taken into custody on Monday and later released on a $2,000 bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, December 14th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Boone County Courthouse.

As per the probable cause statement, a member of staff informed the police that Jackson was suspected to be carrying a weapon while at school. It was reported that the staff member presented a video depicting Jackson holding a gun and pointing it towards a camera while seated in the backseat of a vehicle. The statement further reveals that Jackson and another student were seen wearing identical clothing on school security footage, as observed by the authorities.

According to the statement, it is believed that the video was recorded during the lunch period between 10:30-11 a.m. It was later reported to the police that Jackson may have been in possession of a firearm at 12:20 p.m.

According to the statement, the officer instructed Jackson to accompany him to the school’s north office, and Jackson reportedly complied with the request. Upon arrival, the police requested his backpack, and a school security personnel inquired if there was anything in it that shouldn’t have been there.

According to the statement, Jackson confessed to carrying a backpack containing both a firearm and marijuana. The authorities discovered the gun, cannabis, and a loaded magazine containing 14 rounds of ammunition.
