Haralson County offender, aged 66, admits to assault and road rage charges

The individual admitted to committing multiple offenses, which comprised aggravated assault and a hit-and-run incident.

James Ray Watkins, 66, pleaded guilty on Monday to charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and hit and run in the Superior Court of Haralson County, Georgia.

According to the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, Watkins was convicted for a road rage incident that occurred on May 18, 2023, on US Highway 27 near Walmart.

An argument took place between Watkins and the victim during the incident, as stated by HCSO.

Watkins received a 20-year sentence, with the initial 10 years to be served in confinement as per the court’s ruling.
