Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, expressed on Monday that he was not upset by Larry David’s portrayal of him in the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In the first episode of the newest season, David gets arrested for passing a bottle of water to a friend waiting in line to vote. This action serves as a critique of Georgia’s 2021 law, which banned individuals from providing food or water to voters in an attempt to restrict campaigning in the voting line.
In a recent interview with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, host Dan Abrams from NewsNation and founder of Mediaite asked an interesting question. He inquired, “Were you already a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm before all of this, or did you discover the show for the first time?”
Raffensperger, a conservative Republican, expressed his lack of anger about the situation. He playfully noted that those on MSNBC often appear to get upset about everything, so he is taking a lighthearted approach to the matter.
In his letter to David, where he playfully addressed the situation, Raffensperger humorously remarked, “I believe Larry David must have been stunned when he received my letter. ‘Wow, a Republican with a sense of humor. It must be a unicorn!'”
He expressed, “However, we are dedicated to conducting fair, transparent, and precise elections here in Georgia, and we are not upset about it. Our main goal is to enhance the voter experience by ensuring utmost accuracy, promptly publishing the results, and creating a positive atmosphere. We strive to make the electoral process enjoyable.”
