Galveston rescue team saves SUV driver stuck in manhole construction area

An SUV was lifted out of a manhole in Galveston by a construction crew, as seen in a video captured by an ABC13 viewer. The footage is quite shocking.

An individual who witnessed the event reported that it occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday. A man had been driving his SUV when he suddenly realized that he was in danger, as his vehicle had fallen into an uncovered manhole that lacked any warning lights or barricades. In addition, someone who witnessed the incident advised the man to remain still and immediately contacted emergency services.

According to a witness, the driver was trapped for approximately 10 to 15 minutes before being rescued. According to a witness, the man is expected to be alright.
