French Quarter snake confiscated by New Orleans Police officers

Mocobizscene- A snake from New Orleans was recently seized from its owner and transferred to the Audubon Zoo.

Governor Jeff Landry took to social media to share the news, accompanied by a photo of a sizable yellow and white snake. Landry emphasized that it was removed from the French Quarter as part of an initiative to safeguard the well-being of residents, business owners, and the countless visitors and tourists.

Entrepreneurs in the French Quarter offer a unique experience to tourists by showcasing their large snakes, such as pythons. They allow visitors to take memorable photos with these magnificent creatures, either wrapped around their necks or gracefully draped over their shoulders.

According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, individuals who own snakes longer than eight feet are required to obtain a ‘restricted snake license’.
