Fire breaks out in Sunset Park apartment building, injuring 13 individuals, including 2 firefighters.

Officials have reported that a fire in an apartment building in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, left over a dozen people injured, including two firefighters. The incident occurred on Tuesday and is currently under investigation.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., a fire was reported at 881 Fifth Ave. situated between 38th and 39th streets. Firefighters promptly responded to the scene.

According to FDNY officials, they discovered intense flames on the second floor of the four-story building.

According to reports, 13 individuals, consisting of two firefighters and 11 civilians, have sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.

At 9:20 p.m., the firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.

The reason behind the fire is still unknown at this point.
