Fatal Accident In Long Beach Claims Life Of Woman; Driver Arrested

A tragic incident occurred in Long Beach when a woman was fatally hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene, leaving behind a devastating aftermath. The crash took place on Saturday at 5:26 p.m. in the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue, as reported by Long Beach police Lt. Jonathan Cole.

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department made every effort to save the woman’s life, but unfortunately, she passed away at the scene, Cole confirmed.

According to the initial investigation, a pedestrian was hit by a southbound vehicle on Atlantic Avenue, said the spokesperson. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, initially fled the scene but later returned and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation.

The investigation caused Atlantic Avenue to be closed for several hours, spanning from Patterson to Columbia streets.
