Mocobizscene- According to the Georgetown Fire Department, the accident resulted in one fatality and three other individuals sustaining injuries. The Boston Globe reported that the additional occupant of the SUV and the driver of the sedan, who was the sole occupant, were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment.
The Massachusetts State Police are currently leading the investigation into the cause of this tragic incident. Although the specific details of the crash are still being uncovered, the aftermath of the accident led to the prolonged closure of the exit 78B off-ramp from I-95.
As a result, the surrounding traffic experienced delays and had to take alternative routes. The local fire departments and ambulance services from Rowley, Newbury, and Groveland were commended for their invaluable assistance at the accident scene.
