Fairfax County Carjacker Arrested and Released in DC

Mecca Lee-Bey, a resident of Washington, D.C., was apprehended in Fairfax County for carjacking and grand larceny after he stole merchandise and crashed into a gas station. Lee-Bey was detained in Washington, D.C., one week earlier for kidnapping, armed robbery, assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and theft, but he was released due to a lack of evidence.

In January 2022, Lee-Bey was convicted of larceny and carrying a firearm without a license in connection with an armed carjacking. In January 2023, Lee-Bey was sentenced to supervised probation for the previous offenses.

The charges in Fairfax County are being moved to the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District court due to the victim being a juvenile.
