Ex-Police Officer Files Lawsuit Against Gun Manufacturers and Retailers for D.C. Sniper-Inspired Shooting

Antonio Harris, a retired D.C. police officer, has taken a major legal step by filing a lawsuit against multiple firearm manufacturers and retailers. The lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The defendants in the case include Daniel Defense, LLC; FAB Defense, Inc.; Bravo Company USA, Inc.; FOSTECH, Inc.; and several others.

In his complaint, Harris paints a vivid picture of his harrowing experience and the two months of intense hospital treatment that ensued. Although he survived the incident, his life has been forever changed by the physical and emotional scars that remain.

Harris’s lawsuit centers around the claim that the defendants utilized deceitful and reckless marketing tactics to promote their assault rifles and accessories, with a specific focus on attracting young and impulsive male buyers. The lawsuit contends that this type of marketing has played a significant role in the occurrence of mass shootings in the United States, including the tragic Edmund Burke School incident.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants were responsible for providing the shooter with an assortment of weapons and accessories that were used in the attack. The shooter, who resided in Fairfax County, Virginia, had purchased an AR-15 style rifle, high-capacity magazines, and silencers, among other items, from the defendants. These items were then used during the attack, showcasing the devastating effects of the shooter’s arsenal.

According to Harris, the defendants have gained significant profits by taking advantage of the surge in demand for their products after mass shootings. They have fueled the fear of gun regulation and encouraged hoarding, which has only added to their profits. Harris further alleges that the defendants have not taken any measures to prevent or dissuade potential mass shooters from acquiring their weapons.

The legal action taken by Harris emphasizes the larger problem of gun violence in America and the responsibility of firearm manufacturers and retailers in contributing to these incidents. Harris is striving for accountability from these companies for their purported involvement in enabling such devastating tragedies.

The companies accused in the lawsuit have not yet addressed the accusations against them. Breaking Through News will keep you updated as the Defendants respond to Harris’ claims.
