Mocobizscene- At the San Diego border between the United States and Mexico, K-9 dogs found illegal drugs concealed in vats of jalapeño paste, resulting in an estimated $10.4 million seizure.
A total of 349 packets containing cocaine and methamphetamine were found during the seizure, weighing around 5,22 pounds and 3,161 pounds combined. A 28-year-old male driving a commercial tractor-trailer with a valid border crossing card was found to be in possession of drugs; he was directed to the Otay Mesa Cargo Facility for further inspection.
After the discovery, the driver was sent over to Homeland Security Investigations for processing. In November, the United States Coast Guard removed 18,219 pounds of cocaine from ships that were close to Mexico, Central America, and South America, while U.S. Customs and Border Protection in San Diego seized almost 14,000 pounds of drugs.
