Criminal sentenced to prison for stealing vehicle and striking pedestrian

Mocobizscene- On July 9, a man was sentenced to prison for stealing a vehicle and causing injury to a pedestrian in Niles.

Michael Fisher, a 44-year-old resident of New Carlisle, has pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle and assault with a dangerous weapon. He received a prison sentence of 14 months to five years.

According to Leader Publications, Fisher has experienced mental health challenges and has been either homeless or unemployed. In court, Fisher expressed his apologies, while the judge emphasized the importance of prioritizing his mental well-being.
