Mocobizscene-The New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating three separate shootings that occurred on the night of Christmas, December 25th. Tragically, these incidents resulted in two individuals being wounded and one losing their life.
At approximately 10:08 p.m. on Monday, officers from the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) were dispatched to a report of a man who had been shot in the vicinity of Canal Street and South Carrollton Avenue in the Mid-City area. Upon reaching the scene, the officers discovered the man with a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by EMS, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Law enforcement officials have since labeled the incident as a homicide.
Around 9:11 p.m., officers received a call regarding a shooting in the Fillmore neighborhood on Duplessis Street. A man who had been wounded arrived at a hospital shortly after.
Just hours prior, law enforcement officers were present at the scene of a shooting incident that resulted in a juvenile sustaining injuries in the Pines Village neighborhood.
At approximately 7:47 p.m., officers received a report of a shooting in the 6600 block of Virgilian Street. The incident came to their attention when a juvenile arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound.
Both victims’ conditions remain unknown at this time. The NOPD is currently collecting evidence and information to identify potential suspects and motives for the incidents. Further details are not yet available.
