Shannon Epstein, the niece of Chris Christie, was charged on Monday for resisting police with violence. This incident occurred one year ago at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, where she was reportedly intoxicated and had assaulted deputies.
According to reports, in November 2022, Epstein allegedly engaged in aggressive behavior towards deputies who were attempting to arrest her. This incident occurred after she was removed from a flight on Thanksgiving Day. It is said that she kicked, bit, and spat at the deputies during the altercation.
According to NBC News, she proceeded to inquire a family, whom she seemed to perceive as Latinos, if they were involved in the act of “smuggling cocaine”.
Epstein allegedly caused injuries to six deputies and had to be restrained in a wheelchair. During the incident, he reportedly made a statement, “Do you know who I am? I’m Chris Christie’s daughter,” while also threatening people’s jobs.
This week, Christie’s niece faced charges for allegedly resisting police by force or violence, which is considered a felony. In addition, she was charged with two counts of disturbing the peace by public intoxication, which is categorized as a misdemeanour.
