Car accident in Harlem leads to death of 3-year-old girl and injury of another child.

According to the police, on Thursday night, a vehicle hit two young children who were crossing the street in Harlem. Sadly, one child lost their life in the accident, while the other sustained injuries.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., the collision occurred at the intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 135th Street.

As the 37-year-old woman was crossing the street with a 4-month-old girl, a 2-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old girl, a Nissan SUV turned onto West 135th Street from Lenox Avenue, hitting the two young girls. The police were called to the scene.

After the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, a 40-year-old man, quickly exited the car and lifted the 3-year-old girl from the scene. He rushed her to NYC Health & Hospitals/ Harlem, but unfortunately, she passed away later on. The 2-year-old girl was also transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Fortunately, none of the individuals involved in the incident were harmed including a 37-year-old woman, a 40-year-old driver, and a 4-month-old baby.

The nature of the connections between the woman and the trio of children remains unclear.

The investigation is still in progress.
