Mocobizscene- According to California authorities, a driver who was escaping a collision struck their car, ran a stop sign, and killed the father and his 5-year-old daughter. According to a police department news release from January 1, a driver in a fast SUV struck a family of four on December 31 while they were driving in Los Angeles.

The mother, the 5-year-old, and the 2-year-old were taken to the hospital by a group of onlookers who were attempting to save the family from the “smoking” accident, according to officials.

According to the authorities, the father was declared deceased at the spot. According to police, the mother and the 2-year-old are in critical condition, while the 5-year-old was pronounced deceased by hospital medical officials.

Police informed that they think drinking may have played a role in the collision. The driver and the family members’ identities were kept a secret by the police. On January 2, McClatchy News contacted the Los Angeles Police Department and is awaiting a response.

Timothy Vizza, a neighbour in the neighbourhood, told KTLA, “I had my daughter inside and I told her, this is why we don’t go out at night because people sometimes drive terribly or they’re drinking and driving.” “That’s frightful.”

According to authorities, the driver of the SUV may be charged with murder and gross vehicular manslaughter after being taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
