Body discovered outside church in Orange County

Mocobizscene- A man’s life came to a tragic end outside a church in Westminster last Friday, prompting a thorough investigation by the police. According to the Westminster Police Department, the victim has been identified as Stephen “Steve” Smallwood, aged 62.

At approximately 3:38 p.m. on January 5th, police officers were called to the 13500 block of Goldenwest Street after receiving reports of an unresponsive man.

The authorities declared him deceased at the location. No culprits were discovered at that moment. Smallwood used to live in Westminster but found himself without a home around 2020. According to witnesses, he was last seen on January 4th.

 

“We are releasing the victim’s photo to the media in the hopes that witnesses will come forward and assist us with this case,” stated Deputy Chief of Police, Cameron Knauerhaze. He added, “Smallwood was often seen in the area where he was found, as well as at the United States Post Office on Goldenwest Street.”

The investigators are working diligently to track down a suspect as they strive to unravel the mystery behind his murder.
