Blue Springs shooting on Thursday results in charges against woman, with one person injured

A woman is facing charges in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Blue Springs on Thursday evening, which resulted in one woman sustaining injuries.

Fallon Griffin faces charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action in Jackson County Circuit Court.

According to court documents, the victim’s boyfriend informed the police that he had a child with Griffin. He stated that on the day of the shooting, he was engaged in a heated argument with Griffin over the phone, urging her not to visit the victim’s residence.

According to the victim’s statement to the detectives, Griffin had knowledge of her residential address and made an unexpected appearance at her home.

A neighbor’s surveillance video recorded the sound of gunshots and captured footage of a Black woman wearing a pink sweatshirt running away from the scene in a black SUV.

Detectives were able to track down a black Maserati SUV that belonged to the victim’s boyfriend in the vicinity of the shooting, moments before it was reported. According to court documents, the man informed the investigators that although the suspect was behind the wheel, the vehicle was registered under his name.

The victim with a gunshot wound to the buttocks was found by the responding Blue Springs police officers.

According to court documents, the front door of the residence had a bullet hole.

Griffin remains in custody at the Jackson County Detention Center, with a cash bond set at $100,000.
