Early Monday morning, a car in the Bronx was the scene of a shooting that left a woman wounded by gunfire.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., while situated in their vehicle at the intersection of East 174th Street and Commonwealth Avenue in the Soundview Section, the victim was hit in the back.
She sustained a gunshot wound in her right shoulder at the age of 25.
The medical team transported her to Jacobi Hospital, where she remained in a stable condition.
The vehicle’s back windshield was broken into pieces.
The crime scene was being investigated by the police who had cordoned off the area with tape.
Police are currently investigating a possible motive for the incident as there are only a few businesses on the block. Surveillance video is being searched for to aid in the investigation.
As of now, there have been no reported arrests made.
