Authorities discover cache of 47 firearms, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illicit substances in Paulding County residence

Authorities discovered a significant haul of illegal substances and firearms during a raid on a residence in Paulding County. The seized items included methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, and a total of 47 firearms.

On Thursday, May 2nd, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, along with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a search warrant at 2391 McGarity Road in Temple.

After conducting a thorough two-month-long drug investigation, law enforcement officials initiated the search.

Upon searching the residence, law enforcement officers discovered more than one kilogram of methamphetamine, as well as varying quantities of cocaine, ecstasy, MDEA, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana.

In addition, the authorities discovered a total of forty-seven firearms in the residence.

Gerry Edwards, 39, and Reana Phelps, 32, were apprehended by deputies.

Edwards faced multiple charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic, possession of amphetamines, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

Phelps faced charges for possessing methamphetamine.
