Atlanta Dollar Tree shoplifters arrested after scuffle with officer

Early Sunday morning, Atlanta police apprehended two men who were allegedly shoplifting. During the incident, one of the men got into a scuffle with an officer. Both suspects were subsequently arrested.

At 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 9th, authorities received a report of a burglar inside the Dollar Tree store located at 906 Ralph D. Abernathy Blvd. SW. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.

As soon as the officers arrived at the scene, their attention was drawn towards a man who was seen exiting the store with a bookbag in his hands.

The suspect engaged in a physical altercation with an officer who attempted to stop him, despite the officer’s efforts. The suspect was carrying a bookbag during the incident.

The suspect was arrested by the officer, who utilized his Taser.

Officers were able to capture a second man at a nearby gas station after receiving a description from a witness.

The authorities pressed charges against both individuals as they were found guilty of stealing merchandise from Dollar Tree.

The identities of the two men were not disclosed by the police.
