Arrest Made in Shooting Incident Involving Childhood Friend over Borrowed $200

Mocobizscene-A 27-year-old man from Miami is facing serious consequences after reportedly shooting his childhood friend. The incident occurred on Saturday, following a dispute over a loan repayment.

On Saturday, authorities arrested Frankie Lee James Jr. from Miami on a charge of attempted murder related to the incident. Around 2 a.m. on Friday, a shooting took place on the 1700 block of Northwest 55th Street.

Miami police and City of Miami’s Fire Rescue personnel responded to a ShotSpotter alert and arrived at the scene. They found a victim who had been shot in the right knee. The person was quickly taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for immediate medical care.

According to the victim, James had borrowed $200 from him about ten days ago and had made plans to repay him early Friday morning. Tensions reached a boiling point when James transported them to a spot on 55th Street, sparking a heated confrontation between James and another man.

James immediately left the scene in a sleek black Infiniti sedan following the incident. The authorities apprehended James the next day. During the investigation, James admitted that he was at the crime scene but he insisted that he did not shoot the victim. He said the gun went off inadvertently when it was knocked over.

James is currently being held without bail at the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center.
