Mocobizscene- In a recent operation carried out in the West Kendall area of southwest Miami-Dade, law enforcement officials successfully apprehended a suspect believed to be involved in an attempted burglary at an Aventura jewelry store back in October. Luis Angel Herrera Ramirez, 31, was arrested by Aventura and Miami-Dade police at a residence located in the 5700 block of Southwest 162nd Pass.
On October 19th, the police stated that he was implicated in an incident at the International Jewelers Exchange located at 19275 Biscayne Blvd. They believe that he was attempting to steal from the establishment.
The store incurred significant damage due to the smash-and-grab attempt, but authorities have determined that none of the burglars escaped with any merchandise. According to police, Herrera Ramirez is being charged with smash-and-grab burglary, grand theft auto, and criminal mischief.
Detective Carlos Rivas, a spokesperson for the Aventura Police Department, emphasized that the recent arrest serves as a strong message to individuals attempting to target businesses in the city. He stated in a news release, “Our department remains relentless in our pursuit of justice for those who have committed crimes.” The police are currently searching for the remaining two suspects.
