Mocobizscene- The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating an incident in Tupelo where a person tragically lost their life during an officer-involved shooting.
Officers from the Tupelo Police Department were dispatched to Abby Lane in Tupelo on Friday in response to a domestic violence call, as reported by MBI.
Upon arrival at the scene, a gun was brandished towards the Tupelo Police by an individual, who then promptly fled into a nearby wooded area. In response, the Tupelo Police Special Operations group initiated a thorough search and successfully apprehended the suspect shortly thereafter.
The officers and K9 did not sustain any significant physical injuries, according to MBI. It is important to note that this information is preliminary and may be subject to change. -MBI is currently evaluating this important incident and collecting evidence.
