Alabama Democratic Party seeks to review challenge of Montgomery primary race

The primary election that took place last week in Montgomery County, Alabama has come to an end. However, there is a particular race that is currently under review by the Alabama Democratic Party. The challenge being examined is in regards to the Circuit Court Judge primary between Monet McCorvey Gaines and Greg Griffin.

Gaines emerged as the unofficial winner of the primary, but the Democratic Party Chair, Randy Kelley, informed WSFA12 News that the party is currently forming a committee to investigate a potential election challenge.

The party spokesperson has confirmed that they are challenging the actions that occurred on Super Tuesday, specifically regarding the use of ballots that had the party’s insignia on them.

Kelley promised that additional details regarding the upcoming steps would be disclosed in the near future.
