Sheriff Rescues Child Abandoned on Boat by California Woman and Boyfriend

Mocobizscene- On Sunday, officials in California came to the rescue of a toddler who had been left alone on a boat in Marina del Rey.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was alerted to the presence of a toddler on the swimstep of a power boat by a concerned citizen who called at approximately 4:40 p.m., according to a post on their Instagram account.

The child was discovered alone on the boat, prompting officials to launch a search for the missing parent with concerns for their safety. In an effort to locate the parent, county fire officials conducted an underwater search.

According to KABC, the authorities later apprehended and arrested the mother of the child along with a male companion on charges of child endangerment.

The fire officials conducted a medical evaluation on the toddler, and subsequently, the Department of Children and Family Services took custody of the child.

The sheriff’s department expressed their gratitude to the vigilant citizen for coming forward and sharing valuable information. According to the sheriff’s department, their quick action in this situation potentially prevented harm to a young child.
