Mocobizscene- The Homicide Branch of the D.C. Metro Police Department has achieved a major breakthrough in a December homicide case, leading to the apprehension of a juvenile suspect. Working in collaboration with the Prince George County Police Department, the MPD successfully made the arrest on February 7, 2024.
On December 18th, officers from the Fourth District responded to a report of gunshots at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Kennedy Street in Northwest. It was around 11:46 a.m. when they arrived at the scene and found 27-year-old Jihad Darden with gunshot wounds. Darden was rushed to the hospital by a private vehicle but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
Law enforcement officials successfully apprehended a 15-year-old male from Bowie, Maryland yesterday, following an extensive investigation. The arrest took place in accordance with a DC Superior Court custody order. The juvenile is now slated for extradition to Washington, DC, where he will be charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
