Fatal Accident In Northeast Houston As Truck Driver Collides With Rear Of 18-Wheeler Cab

According to the police, a pickup truck and the cab of an 18-wheeler were involved in a crash in northeast Houston on Tuesday, resulting in the death of one driver. The Houston Police Department reported that the collision occurred at around 6:40 a.m. in the 200 block of McCarty Street, near Portwall Street and the I-610 North Loop.

As SkyEye soared above, it captured the aftermath of a collision between a pickup truck and the rear of an 18-wheeler cab. Interestingly, the cab was detached from its trailer.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) reported that a blue Ford F-150 collided with a white tractor-trailer truck on McCarty’s southbound lanes. The truck had its left turn signal activated, indicating its intention to turn onto Portwall Street.

According to the police, a passerby managed to extinguish the fire that had engulfed the Ford. The Ford driver was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he passed away, according to investigators.

According to authorities, the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 29-year-old man, was unharmed in the incident. He was subsequently interviewed by the police and later released. Authorities were conducting an investigation into the crash, resulting in the closure of McCarty Street in both directions.
