Police have reported that a shooting incident occurred in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, resulting in seven people being shot. Tragically, two of the individuals shot lost their lives as a result of the gunfire.
According to KYW-TV, the shooting happened in the evening at around 8:30 p.m. near Sixth Street and Allegheny Avenue. The authorities suspect that the incident may be related to drugs.
Interim Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Stanford stated that there has been some drug-related activity in the area. He acknowledged that this particular block is not unfamiliar to law enforcement. However, he refrained from confirming with complete certainty that the situation is connected to the narcotics trade, although he believes it is likely.
According to reports, four individuals were discovered with gunshot wounds in close proximity to the incident site and were transported to Temple University Hospital. Regrettably, two of them were declared deceased by the authorities. Meanwhile, three other victims reportedly made their way to nearby hospitals on foot, with no updates available on their current conditions.
According to the report, the scene witnessed over 70 shots being fired, and the police have recovered at least five firearms and some drugs.
