Trump and Vance, both displaying emotional expressions, greeted at the convention

Donald Trump appeared at the Republican National Convention on Monday evening, marking his first public appearance just two days after surviving an assassination attempt.

As soon as the news broke that U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, had been announced as his running mate, Trump was joined by him. The audience erupted with thunderous applause and emotions ran high as the nation’s 45th president took to the stage for the final hour. Trump was almost brought to tears by the overwhelming response.

The audience eagerly awaited a speech from Trump and Vance at the “Make America Wealthy Again” themed event that focused on the economy. However, both speakers decided against it, despite the crowd’s plea. After much anticipation, the announcement of Vance’s decision was finally made official on Monday afternoon.

Throughout the event, the ex-president couldn’t hide his emotions and was seen getting moved by the speeches. However, there were moments of joy too, and he couldn’t help but smile, especially when someone imitated him just before the benediction. The chants of “USA” echoed in the Fiserv Forum Arena in Milwaukee, Wis., which is the home of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks and filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervor.

During the earlier part of the day, the delegates formally designated Trump as their choice for the presidential nominee.

Throughout the evening, a variety of individuals took to the stage to speak, including congressmen, businessmen, political commentators, and everyday Americans. The speakers were a diverse group, representing different genders, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Among them were familiar political leaders, as well as unexpected individuals, including those who had previously voted for Democrats but now regretted it and would not be doing so on November 5th.

Unity was emphasized as crucial by Michael Whatley, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

He emphasized the importance of party and national unity by stating, “We must unite as a party and we must unite as a nation.” He acknowledged that this election holds significance not only for the next four years but also for future generations of Americans.

Several speakers highlighted the economic struggles that everyday Americans are currently facing and referred to Bidenomics as a “disaster.” One speaker even pointed towards Trump as a solution to inflation.
