Two people who died in a murder-suicide at a Montgomery County residence have been identified by the sheriff’s office.

WOODLAWN, TENNESSEE  – According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, two persons in their 70s were killed in a murder-suicide in Woodlawn.

The sheriff’s office said they’re still looking into a death investigation involving two Moore Hollow Road residents, 73-year-old Charles Hill and 71-year-old Audrey Evans.

According to the sheriff’s office, first responders were rushed to the home for a welfare check after an insurance adjuster contacted 911 because he suspected Hill had a medical condition. First responders heard a gunshot inside the house while attempting to reach Hill.

Deputies entered the house and discovered Evans and Hill’s deaths. According to MCSO, both passed away from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both victims were transferred to the medical examiner’s office for autopsies.

“The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit is still processing the scene, and the investigation is still ongoing. There is no threat to the public, and no other information is available for release at this time,” MCSO said.
