Two people were killed in separate car accidents in Montgomery

Two persons were killed in separate car accidents last week, according to the police.

According to information supplied Monday by the Montgomery Police Department, one of the victims was pedestrian Greson Vandiver. Vandiver died in the hospital on Monday after being hit by a 2013 Chevy Silverado at 9 a.m. Thursday, according to MPD.

Vandiver, 77, was killed on Lower Wetumpka Road in the 3500 block, according to Maj. Saba Coleman, in an email, police officers and fire medics arrived to the site.

According to information supplied Monday by the Montgomery Police Department, the second car accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. Saturday and killed Robert Green.

According to Coleman, officers and fire medics rushed to the single-vehicle crash on I-85 Southbound near Perry Hill Road. Green was behind the wheel of a 2007 Lincoln Mark LT. Green was pronounced deceased at the site by first responders, according to Coleman.

Green hails from Montgomery.

Both investigations are still underway, according to MPD, and officers did not immediately release any additional information.
