Two people killed near Montgomery, car leaves interstate

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 61-year-old Ester Boutwell, overturned and left the road. Both Boutwell and her passenger, 31-year-old Kimberly Barrentine, lost their lives in the accident that took place on Interstate 65, approximately three miles south of the Montgomery city limits.

The victims were from Michigan, and first responders pronounced them dead at the scene.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Cpl. Reginal King conveyed the news in an email statement and said that the Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.

The agency has not disclosed any further details at this time.
