Breaking News: The pursuit of a stolen vehicle ends with an I-85 smash into a Montgomery police unit

The Montgomery Police Department has provided additional information about a crash that occurred on Friday morning on I-85 northbound.

According to reports, the crash was a result of a police pursuit that ultimately led to the arrest of two suspects.

The incident began at approximately 8:20 a.m. when the Montgomery Police Department attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the 2000 block of West Fairview Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over, which then initiated a police chase. Eventually, the suspects crashed into an unmarked MPD patrol vehicle in the area of I-85 northbound near Perry Hill Road.

One of two unidentified suspects is placed in a Montgomery police SUV after a chase ended Friday with a crash into an unmarked police unit on I-85.

Although there were injuries, none were life-threatening. It is unknown whether the injured parties were the suspects or occupants of the MPD unit.

Two suspects, who remain unidentified, were apprehended, and charges are currently pending. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Initially, I-85 was closed but has since reopened.
