According to a news release, a licensed nurse performed an assessment and then consulted with other medical staff before leaving the cell. At 11:54 a.m., another nurse arrived to conduct a follow-up assessment, as reported.

Following the follow-up, the medical personnel exited the cell, and upon review, it was discovered that the deputies continued to monitor the well-being of the inmate.

In the early afternoon, around 12:41 p.m., an inmate gave birth while in her cell. Fortunately, a deputy was quick to respond and provided assistance to the new mother. The jail medical staff and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were also informed of the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of both the mother and child.

After giving birth, the medical team provided treatment to the new mother. Following that, EMS safely transported both the mother and her baby to a nearby hospital for further care.
