Montgomery police have launched a homicide investigation after a body was discovered in a car fire

A homicide investigation has been launched after a car fire on Interstate 85 in Montgomery.

According to police, they and fire medics were called to an automobile fire on Interstate 85 southbound at Taylor Road around 12:05 a.m. Thursday. They discovered the body of Joseph Turner, 38, of Montgomery.

His body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy, which confirmed that he died as a result of a lethal gunshot wound.
